We provide tea, coffee and home-made fruit juices, BUT NOT ALCOHOLIC DRINKS. You are welcome to bring a bottle of wine to drink with your dinner.
We request that all guests observe our policy of not smoking indoors. We would be delighted if you could manage not to smoke at all - fires are started very easily.
Please check with us before bringing very young children. Ravana’s Secret has many steep rocky areas which are well worthy of a visit, so we advise everybody to exercise caution!
Disclaimer: We do our utmost to keep jungle treks on our land as accessible as possible, but nature and weather can sometimes undo some of our good work. All our visitors undertake walks/treks at their own risk.
If you are not familiar with the tropics, and particularly if you have never been to Sri Lanka, you may be interested in reading our ‘helpful hints for travellers’, which we would be happy to e-mail to you if you give us your address.
Upon our confirmation of your booking, a deposit of 50% of the total accommodation costs should be in our company account within 7 days. This will guarantee your reservation. This amount is not refundable in case of your cancellation for any reason at any time.
The remaining 50% should be in our account 4 weeks before your agreed date of arrival. Of course we are happy to receive the full 100% upon our initial confirmation.
Bookings made within 4 weeks of your arrival date should be paid in full to our account within 7 days of our confirmation.
For last minute bookings where the above terms are not possible, we require 100% payment for accommodation in cash upon your arrival. We are a small organisation and do not have credit card facilities. There are ATM machines in Bandarawela town.
Any bank charges incurred must not be payable by us. Cancellations less than 4 weeks before your agreed arrival date are charged at 100% of the total costs.
Any extra costs such as lunches, picnics, excursions etc., should be paid in cash before your departure.
We do not have facilities for drivers or domestic staff on site. Drivers can find accommodation in Bandarawela or Ella.
For all transactions, whether in advance or on the spot, any exchange rates will be calculated according to the BOC (Bank of Ceylon) rates current at the time.
