Pictured below are some of the birds you may see at Ravana’s Secret. All these photos were taken on our land. Sometimes we are lucky enough to have the streak throated woodpeckers. If you’re lucky, you may hear the wonderful ‘Devil Bird’ (Bubo nipalensis), almost impossible to catch on camera!

Young Peacock

Listen out for the loud high pitched whistles of the Hill Myna up in the tree canopies. The Sri Lanka Grey Hornbills are friendly and curious: they have unmistakable loud raucous calls. The Pompadour Green Pigeon has a strangely human like whistle and the ‘pop, pop, pop’ of the Coppersmith Barbet perched on a tree top resounds through the valleys and hills, belying its diminutive size.
